For many, the temples of Estivage du Bétail are places of worship and sanctuary, places where the populace come to beseech miracles, protection, or answers, hoping the gods are still listening. For Charity, the temple is her home. Blessed with flawless, porcelain skin, penetrating blue eyes, and golden tresses, she was appointed at birth by the elders of her people as their Living Goddess. Decreed that she was to serve Antonin, she was sent to live in his temple as his priestess, serving as the Oracle for her people. There she grew into the young woman she is today, an image of perfection, with the temple being the only world she has ever known.
For some, the title her ethereal attraction has earned is considered to be the highest honour a woman could ever achieve. For others, her otherworldly beauty is also her curse, for she is to live in isolation, away from the corrupting hands of men, her duties being to worship her god, and to deliver his messages to any and all who come seeking his advice or blessing, to whatever ends.
