Dear Mister Mulciber,
I hope this letter finds you well, and that it does not take from what I understand is the very busy work in which you are involved in. I will attempt to make it as brief as possible so that this will not be the case.
I have been informed by father that our first scheduled dinner will be proceeded by the painting of our first portrait – I was writing in hopes of learning what you are planning on wearing so that I might dress appropriately.
I do not wish to disappoint.
Yours, A. Laroque

Mademoiselle Laroque,
Neutral colours. Contact my valet regarding such matters; he'll steer you in the right direction should you have concerns about other fripperies in this vein.
I trust your travel arrangements have been settled by now?
Sincerely, A. Mulciber

Mister Mulciber,
I was only trying..
Yes, of course. I apologise, I should have realised you'd have no interest such things are exceptionally trivial and should not have wasted your time with them. I will come dressed as your valet suggests.
The travel arrangements have been settled – I leave in the morning.
Yours, A. Laroque

Mademoiselle Laroque,
Your efforts to conform to our plans are appreciated.
I have arranged a small escort to meet your party at the border. There should be no trouble, but I prefer the reassurance of loyal men at your side than none at all.
Sincerely, A. Mulciber

Mister Mulciber,
Conform? An interesting choice of words.
I simply do not wish to disappoint, and would hate for the portrait to be anything but up to your standards.
I am sure my father is pleased with your plans – a small escort to your home will surely set his mind at ease.
Yours, A. Laroque

Mister Mulciber,
Respect is hardly the word for which you have chosen to show me, good sir. But I suppose the effort is appre-
